Corachar, Olocau del Rey and Vallibona are three small villages in northern Valencia. The parish churches in these villages together define the architecture style featuring diaphragm arches and wood roofing used in parish churches, which was extremely popular in mediaeval Valencian architecture.
The church in Corachar is important because of the early date in which its construction is documented (1247). The church in Olocau del Rey is interesting because of its meticulous design contract stipulating the construction of the building (1296). The church in Vallibona is worth examining because of the quality and excellent state of conservation of the medieval roof covering it.
The scant population in these villages makes it advisable to contact the respective parishes and/or town halls if you wish to visit the churches.
