VALENCIA’S TOWN HALL

Amadeo Serra Desfilis

Among the most important profane buildings in the city of Valencia there was the today lost Town Hall, headquarters of the municipality  from the XIVth century until the middle XIXth, time in that the Consistory was relocated and the old building demolished. Any voice was heard to protect a monument that represented the ancient headquarters of the municipal medieval government.. Only were saved from the demolition a few pieces considered with enough artistic or historical interest, spared nowadays among the Lonja, the Fine Arts Museum and the Municipal Museum. From these elements, old images and original documentation, it's yet posible to evoque the grandeur of this building.
